My cervical spine (neck)

That's my neck. Yes, I have a major case of spinal deformation to my cervical spine.

I got this x-ray taken a few months ago before considering chiropractic treatment. Of course, when I saw the results of the "turtle neck" that I have, which reflects a complete reversal of a "healthy" curvature of my neck, I knew I needed to take action. However, during that time, I was unemployed and uninsured. So, I was powerless. Yes. It was one of the most discouraging feelings I have ever experienced. When a medical professional tells you that you are in dire need of clinical treatment for a major condition you hold, you are immediately forced to consider your options, pick one, then sought out urgent treatment. In my case at that time, I had one option: pay out of pocket. What does this mean? Well, I had no income! So.. I hold off and ignore it.

Fast forward to this summer: I spent this entire summer in South Korea with my parents. They had a room for me. They fed me. They housed me. They nurtured me in every way (above and beyond) that parents do for their children (if possible/applicable). I know that I am blessed with the most incredible, wonderful, giving, forgiving, loving, nurturing, cultured, educated, fun, exciting, hilarious, warm, endearing, comforting, dedicated, crazy in love - parents. They are absolute superstars. They have a thousand other responsibilities as individuals/adults, but above and beyond, they are the most perfect parents.

Seriously, I am afraid to become a parent because I am fairly certain I will never amount to what they have accomplished.

Anyways, during my time in Korea with them this summer (before moving across the country - Baltimore, MD to Los Angeles/Monrovia, CA), my beautiful & strong mom was willing to dedicate a sum of her money to my constant and serious chiropractic care for y spinal issues.

I had a form of Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic treatments performed on me by a referral through my aunt - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiropractic_treatment_techniques - which is a serious mild type of spinal treatment/chiropractic manipulation.

I am normally used to the "normal" chiropractic treatment with cracking of your back, popping and cracking noises, heat/ice treatment before or after therapy, etc. But Atlas Orthogonal Treatment was really, really, mild. To the point where I was unconvinced that there was any therapeutic benefit at all.

It has been almost 2 months since my last treatment, and to be completely honest, I don't feel like the effects of almost 3 months of treatment were long-term and beneficial.

In this respect, I do NOT recommend Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic treatment. I have a 24/7 lifetyle of either desk/office setting and/or being exposed to my laptop/computer at home. Due to the nature of the way that I sit, use my neck/spine, and my basic living description (which I am sure applies to SO many of you) - Atlas Orthogonal treatment did not manipulate and treat my spine enough to create a lasting and beneficial effect in my life. In fact, I am currently experiencing a lot of unexpected neck pain, strain, and concerns at this time.

I am going to close up this post by saying that I am still in full belief that chiropractic care is an important part of my healthcare practices and interests. However, I am going to seek spinal pain care from a different modality and source of care. Now that I have FULL COVERAGE this type of healthcare through my new insurance (Thank you, City of Hope!) I think you know what I'll being searching online over the next few days...

If you have ANY QUESTIONS about my chiropractic treatment, experience with various types of care, recommendations, and opinions on SPINAL INJECTIONS, SPINAL MANIPULATIONS, CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT, CHRONIC BACK PAIN CARE, etc... please do not hesitate to contact me or leave a comment!

Best in health, santé!
